After being held up due to the coronavirus, the University of Manchester is to go ahead with a £1.5bn innovation district.  It is expected that the University will shortly announce that a joint venture between Stanhope and Bruntwood SciTech will be the developer of the project.  The location will be on a 26 acre site close to its North Campus, not far from Piccadilly Railway Station.  It will comprise 240,000 square metres of work space as well as some residential facilities.  It is estimated that the project will create approximately 6,000 jobs.
