The UK construction industry is coming under more supply constraints as mortar suppliers toy with the idea of rationing. Cement supplies are down by 40%, lead times have dropped from 4 days to 10 days. Remix, a bulk mortar supplier, has been put on allocation and found itself obliged to stop taking orders. However, it has stated that it hopes to resume orders next week. Another supplier, Euromix, has given written notice of potential shortages to customers.
