The list of potential developers of the £140m reservoir in Havant, Hampshire has been shortlisted. The construction of the last major water storage reservoir in the UK took place 40 odd years ago. Designed by Atkins, the project will consist of two main work packages, the pipeline and the reservoir itself. The reservoir will be capable of storing 8.7 billion litres of water and will have an approximate area of 1.3 square metres.
It is expected that a decision on the planning application, which was lodged last year, will be announced in June or July of this year. All going well, the contracts will be awarded in March 2022.
