Plans are in place for the redevelopment of Galway’s inner harbour, which would see the construction of a new urban quarter on the waterfront of the 7.6ha site. The six to eight storey tall buildings would comprise a combination of recreational, cultural, commercial and residential buildings. The bulk of the space would be made up of residential apartment blocks and office/commercial space. Other proposals include water-based leisure activities and landscaped public spaces.
