New £20m service hub for West Midlands Ambulance Service

3 D Personnel

After receiving funding from the West Midlands Combined Authority, a new £20m service hub for West Midlands Ambulance Service will be built in Sandwell.  McClaren Construction is the chosen developer for the 7,050 square metre purpose-built hub, which will be the biggest in the UK.  It will comprise housing for 350 operational ambulance staff as well as facilities for fleet maintenance, vehicle preparation areas and the Hazardous Area Response Team.

It is hoped that the project will be completed before the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in July 2022.
