IMF calls on government to implement more measures to tackle the housing crisis

3 D Personnel

After its annual review of the Irish economy, the International Monetary Fund, (IMF), recognised the efforts made by the government, and has also called upon it to implement more measures to tackle the housing crisis so as to attaint sustained growth in the aftermath of the coronavirus.  It suggests a range of tactics including increasing the supply of social housing, releasing more land for development, incentivising the construction of rental properties and streamlining the approval process.

Reports of the housing shortage has been well documented in the media recently, with some suggesting that rent has increased by up to 7%.  We look forward to an all-encompassing and unified approach from all stakeholders.
