Amazon have lodged a planning application for a second data centre in the IDA Business Park, County Meath. The 28,566 metre square building would also include solar panels on the roof, water storage tanks, diesel tanks, a filling area and an emergency house supply generator.
The company is currently building a data centre on the same site which they hope to complete in 2023. The proposal is to build the second one to the north of the current one, with a view to beginning the 3 year project in 2023.
Tunis Properties LLC lodged the application on behalf of Amazon. It is hoped that a decision will be made in a months time.
