Dublin’s DART to be extended from Malahide to Drogheda

3 D Personnel

The works which will extend Dublin’s DART from Malahide to Drogheda will be led by Arup in the role of main multidisciplinary design consultants.  The project is part of the DART+ Project, which seeks to build a 150km electrified rail network in the greater Dublin area.  Arup will be responsible for the electrification of the 37km stretch between Drogheda and Malahide.  However, the existing line from Greystones to Malahide will also see a facelift, via junction upgrades, bridge strengthening, level crossing removals and upgrading telecoms, signalling and power systems.

The project hopes to increase passenger capacity from 17,980 to 26,680, each way, improve reliability while at the same time, reduce carbon emissions.
