Plans submitted for £160m redevelopment of London office scheme

Plans have been submitted for the redevelopment of a £160m office scheme at 7 Milbank, close to the Houses of Parliament in London.  The project seeks to increase the floor space by 3,700 square metres over 9 stories.

The developer, Baola Properties, are being assisted by Make Architects, who have a particular challenge as the objective is to demolish the existing building, and then rebuild the current stone façade around a new steel frame.  Besides retaining the natural beauty of the building, using the current stone will reduce carbon emissions, thus will add to overall sustainability.
