A major regeneration of the 8-hectare Belfast Transport Hub is under way. The finished works will provide a modern, world class quality, integrated transport hub which will facilitate travel across national and international rail, coach and bus. It has been confirmed that the first stage of the Enabling Works Phase has been completed, including the construction of a bus parking area, a new bus wash facility, storage facilities and a new engineering garage. The current bus engineering and operations facilities have also been moved to a new location.
Construction and civil engineering contractor GRAHAM's are leading the developments and hope to complete the entire Enabling Works towards the end of 2021 and move towards the main build in the Main Works Infrastructure enhancement project stages. The project is expected to be handed over in 2025, with an increase to 26 bus stands, 8 railway platforms, cycle and taxi provision.
