83,000m2 of new office space for London’s Finsbury

British Land has obtained planning consent for 83,000m² of new office space at 2 Finsbury Avenue, London. The project, known as London Broadgate twin towers, will also include 700m² of retail space and approx. 2,100m² of learning space. A large podium will support a 37-storey East Tower and 22-storey West Tower. The project is ground breaking as it seeks to achieve net-zero carbon standards. BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ certification is also hoped to be attained.

It is expected that Sir Robert McAlpine will be the main contractor, while the cutting edge design, technology and knowhow required to build such a sustainable building is being provided by Denmark’s 3XN, an architect.
