Heavy Civils Site Agent

Essex / London

£50000 - £60000 (DOE)

Overview:

  • Seeking an experienced Heavy Civils Site Agent for a major project on the Essex/London border
  • To provide leadership to a construction team delivering the scope of work within a major work package to defined cost, time and quality requirements.
  • To promote the Company's culture and business reputation through effective site and team management

Key Duties:

  • Site Management: Take overall responsibility for the management and coordination of all site activities, ensuring they align with project objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of work to ensure it complies with project specifications, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Health and Safety: Champion and enforce a strong safety culture on the project site, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Resource Management: Efficiently allocate and manage resources, including labour, materials, and equipment, to optimize productivity and meet project milestones.
  • Progress Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular progress reports to project management and stakeholders, highlighting key achievements and potential challenges.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and deviations from the project timeline.
  • Subcontractor and Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and local authorities to ensure efficient and timely execution of activities.
  • Document Control: Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including drawings, plans, and records of as-built conditions.
  • Cost Control: Monitor project costs and budget allocation, taking proactive measures to keep the project within budget.

Experience & Qualifications Required:

  • Previous experience as a Site Agent in Heavy Civils Construction projects.
  • Experience with Groundworks processes such as Piling, Concrete Waterproofing, etc.  
  • At least 3 years proven experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience on land/sea projects a bonus
  • Knowledge of construction best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of H&S and environmental legislation
  • Commercial and contractual management skills
  • Planning management skills
  • Leadership, people/team management skills
  • CSCS – Manager level or above
