We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a role with a major build contractor in the Milton Keynes area. They are known as a specialist house builder but also cover mixed use projects.
They are looking for a candidate with good main contractor or housebuilding experience. Must have strong attention to detail and produce accurate work for the company. Must have good negotiation skills as well as excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Good team management experience and the ability to negotiate and agree contracts with sub-contractors.
Duties:
- Identification & procurement of suitable sub-contractors
- Using the appropriate tender documentation effectively and efficiently procure tenders, negotiate and let sub-contractors within required timescales
- Management of the financial aspects of the development
- Reviewing and forecasting the latest cost estimates and reporting including montly cost reports
- Attend relevant site meetings alongside senior leadership teams
- Manage the payment of subcontractors, measured work and variations are paid in a timely manner
- Working closely with external employers such as hosing associations undertaking valuations, cash flow forecasts, obtaining warranties etc.
Candidate must have degree or technical qualification, RICS qualification or relevant qualifcation.
