QUALITY MANAGER - COVENTRY
My client is a multi discipline Engineering & Construction company, with offices and projects throughout the UK and Overseas. Who have a number of different divisions, including; Energy, Oil & Gas, Process & Water, International and Control & Automation. They have over 700 employees and with a healthy forward order book and a projected turnover of £140m this year, it is an exciting time to join the business.
My client have an immediate requirement to appoint a Quality Manager to join our Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality team at our Regional Office near Coventry. This office has been set up to manage the National Grid IPW framework. Working closely with the SHEQ Manager a Quality Engineer, you will monitor and maintain the processes, procedures, forms, structure and effectiveness of the company Business Management System.
Duties:
- Supporting the SHEQ Manager in the production and publication of company procedures and supporting forms
- Communicating Quality Assurance (QA) requirements across the company
- Monitoring and measuring Management System effectiveness, including Data/Root Cause Analysis, Auditing (corrective and improvement action) and report writing
- Ensuring improvement actions are implemented and closed within agreed timescales
- QA planning activity
- Supply Chain assessments and monitoring
- Managing a Quality Engineer
Background/Skills:
- Previous/current experience of working in a similar role
- Working in the construction industry essential
- Understanding of the scope and purpose of Quality Plans and Quality Management Tools and Techniques
- Able to produce Quality Performance Reports against Audit Criteria, Objectives / KPI’s, Contractual Requirements
- Good communication & interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management/multi-tasking skills
- Able to prioritise effectively
- Excellent IT skills (MS Office & SharePoint)
- Strong attention to details/accuracy
- Flexible & proactive
Qualifications:
Essential –
- An ISO9001 related Qualification
- A background in Quality Assurance
- Internal Auditor Trained (ISO9000 series)
- Report Writing/ Presentation Skills
Desirable –
- Working experience within/with the utilities and energy sectors
- ISO9001:2015 Trained
- Project Management skills/experience
