We are recruiting on behalf of an award winning independent Engineering Consultancy with a solid reputation founded on customer satisfaction and product innovation and currently they have (circa) 200 projects underway.
As their success story continues they now wish to hire a Senior Systems Engineer to be based in their Derry office who will be crucial to help them continue to drive swiftly forward into the arena of digitalisation, system infrastructure and new system technologies.

Role Profile Summary:
The person appointed will be responsible for coordinating the construction, maintenance, and expansion of the company’s management information systems, and for delivering high-quality IT user support across their various offices;
You will also apply strong technical acumen to present new solutions to address complex application and network issues including the integration of new technology that will promote long term efficiencies and success;
This role will see you organise, develop, and lead all current and future technology services ensuring improved capabilities and performance.

What we are looking for:
We are seeking a technically creative IT Specialist/Manager with a solid foundation across multiple network and cloud-based platforms (e.g. AWS, Office 365) to join the team.
The ideal candidate will be trusted to dive right in, take the lead, use initiative and creative flair to help build and enhance current IT infrastructure, and to integrate new technology systems into the business as it grows along with the industry.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality IT support to the business and to integrate new software solutions to meet future IT needs of an innovative organisation that has recently, and continues, to undergo significant development and growth.

You should have a Batchelor’s Degree in Computer Science or another related field and a minimum of 3 years recent experience in a computer networks, system engineering or user support position with a high end to end project management focus and high levels of ownership.

*A minimum of 1 year’s recent experience of leading challenging MIS projects involving multiple stakeholders, preferably in a similar sized SME or start-up company.
*Proven practical experience of building upon pre-existing IT infrastructure along with the integration of new technology systems into an organisation.
Proven ability of developing training material and facilitating training workshops.
*Ability to think strategically, critically, creatively, and innovatively.
*Proven practical experience with various operating systems, networks, and databases.
