Vacancy: Environmental Planner/Scientist

About the role
This role provides an excellent opportunity for you to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering projects across a range of sectors, including transportation, infrastructure development and tourism.
Role responsibilities
- Planning and environmental appraisal of sites/lands
- Preparation of supporting documentation for feasibility studies and planning applications
- Preparation of inputs for and co-ordination of EIA and SEAs
- Organisation and management of public consultation events, Oral Hearings, etc.
- Required qualifications, skills and knowledge
- Relevant planning/environmental science qualification (BSc, BA, MSc)
- 2-4 years’ experience in the planning / environmental assessment sector
- Excellent knowledge of EIA and SEA processes
- Good knowledge of environmental legislation and the Irish planning system
- Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Comfortable working in a busy environment with tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and quality outputs
- Excellent IT skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Fluency/highly proficiency in spoken and written English
- Self-motivated, positive, assertive and focused
Desirable
- MSc qualification
- Knowledge of AA and SFRA processes
- Experience using GIS and other planning tools, including census statistics to provide evidenced-based planning and research
