Our client a fast-growing MEP building services design consultancy based in Co Donegal and are looking to expand their team. This client is ISO:9001-2015 standard accredited demonstrating their commitment to delivering a first-class service to all clients.
This opportunity will involve working as part of a practice of Building Design professionals delivering engineering design solutions to clients across a wide variety of projects. The Building Design practice works on projects across a range of focus markets, including Commercial, Retail, Education, Healthcare & Pharma.
The opportunity will require candidates to be client-facing as well as being involved in the day-to-day design and management of projects. It is an exciting opportunity for a design engineer to further develop their career within a leading building design consultancy in the North West of Ireland.
The key focus of this company is on developing staff to realise their full potential, with development plans geared to individual needs and abilities. This role will allow development of existing technical skills as well as providing potential to expand digital skills and project management.
What you will be doing
Perform Engineering Design tasks on Projects as part of an integrated project team;
Design and specification of Electrical Engineering Solutions to current regulations and design standards;
Work directly with clients and project engineers to define project requirements and develop technical solutions;
Lead Pre-Construction Engineering activities and the production of information including, design development, construction details, services coordination, technical submittals, sub-contracts, etc;
Provide technical support to the estimating, procurement, commercial, and project bid teams;
Provide off site technical support to construction teams on projects.
What we are looking for
Strong technical ability in all aspects of Electrical Engineering Services & Design.
Third level diploma / degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
10 yrs. + relevant experience, ideally in a design consultancy environment.
Knowledge & experience of CIBSE Guides, Building Regs, EN Standards and IEC Standards.
Experience in Dialux & Amtech;
Experience of client, vendor & contractor interaction & management;
Proactive, a good communicator with the ability to work well with others in a multifunctional project team;
Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy.
You will in addition ideally already be living in the local area within a commutable distance and have the legal right to work in the jurisdiction. Visa sponsorship is not available currently.
