Job Title: Project Manager – Civils

Job Description
Our client are one of the leading Building and Civil Engineering Contractors operating throughout the UK and Ireland.
They are seeking to recruit an experienced Civils Project Manager to join the Civils team to deliver a new single carriageway road with a drainage network and other infrastructure works.
Due to the portfolio of work it is essential that candidates can demonstrate previous experience at Site Agent/Project Manager level on heavy civils schemes including marine/flood, highways and roads projects. The successful candidate will be happy to travel and work throughout the UK.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a wide and varied remit making full use of their experience and skills.
Ensure all site activities are undertaken in compliance with SHEQ policies and procedures
Ensure subcontractors, designers, clients, staff and visitors are inducted and approved risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are in place
Supervise and monitor the direct site labour force and monitor, coordinate and manage subcontractors
Manage and coordinate subcontract packages
Assist the Project team to ensure the works are constructed to the quality required by the Contract Drawings and specification
Producing technical support to production teams
Produce RAMS for directly employed labour and approve RAMS for other elements of the work
Responsible for following and implementing company procedures, inspections and forms
Produce, implement and approve where appropriate, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) ensuring accurate and up to date records are maintained
Record, submit and monitor Non-conformance Reports (NCR) and maintain the NCR register
Ensure drawings, specifications and other contract documents are kept up to date
Ensure that the project programme is available and communicated to the supply chain prior to work commencing
Develop short term look ahead programmes in collaboration with the supply chain
Chair subcontractor progress meetings, prepare minutes from the meetings and distribute
Produce weekly / monthly progress reports, as appropriate.
Communicate programme risks to the management team and maintain records for contractual correspondence.
Plan and manage site resources to ensure there is a safe working environment and achieve the programme.
Ensure the management team are kept appraised of variations to the works and any matter likely to have commercial or contractual implications.
Assist the more junior site engineers and supervise/lead as and when required.
Qualifications
Essential
Experience working on heavy civils schemes including coastal/marine/flood, highways and roads projects
Full Driving Licence
Desirable
BA (Hons) in Civil Engineering or equivalent
