Our current client is a long standing and well-known hotel within minutes of Derry City Centre and are now in a position to hire an experienced and capable Bar Manager to work alongside the Operations Manager to cement the hotels place as a great part of the Derry Hospitality market.
Job Summary (Description of main purpose of job):
The effective management of all beverage departments with a clear focus on 4* SOP’s in all Beverage operations;
Works closely, co-operates and supports, the Operations Manager and General Manager in all Human Resource issues that arise in the Hotel;
Has clear responsibility for all Human resource issues delegated by the General Manager;
Ensures that all KPIs and business objectives are met;
Drives team performance to achieve revenue targets and budget productivity targets;
Initiates and develops activities that supports and enhances sales and profits;
Complies and implements all statutory requirements regarding fire, health and safety and food hygiene
Ensures effective and profitable bottom line margins are set in place for the sale of all beverage products;
Clear emphasis on KPI’s, weekly stock taking processes, stock orders, rotation of stock products and maintenance of all beverage areas in a multi-outlet unit;
Effectively and strategically manages current and future revenue beverage revenue streams across all beverage profit centres;
Provides and effectively communicates clear direction to the team, especially during peak business times;
Manages poor performance through the appropriate training or disciplinary action;
Achieve GP targets;
Effectively recruit, select and manage team members who meet the current and future needs of the business;
Ensures weekly supervisor meetings take place with effective communications to all the team;
Ensures all team members are up to date regarding events, business objectives and activities;
Conducts regular training assessments of all team members and ensures relevant training plans are put in place to meet current and future business needs, 4* SOP’s throughout all Beverage operations;
Conducts “one to one” appraisals with the Assistant Bar Manager and Supervisors on a regular basis;
Ensures daily that supervisors and staff are clear about their objectives, targets and accountabilities;
Ensures weekly customer care initiatives are actioned and communicated clearly with all the team;
Facilities and assists in both external and internal staff and customer performance audits;
Reports any other issues that have potential to materially impact on the business financial performance.
Third level qualification (Diploma or degree) in Business, Hospitality or Tourism & Leisure. However, relevant and successful on the job experience will be considered.
Extensive experience of the day-to-day running of a hotel; planning, organising and directing all hotel Beverage operations
-Leadership and management experience in training staff, sales, and public relations
-Demonstrates business creativity and innovation with sound commercial acumen
-Extensive knowledge of current Beverage trends
-Action orientated with high level drive for results for self and for others.
-Demonstrates experience and knowledge of sales processes that leads to superior customer service and satisfaction.
-Strong track record in personal sales, networking and profitable business growth.
