Vacany: Technical Manager
Location: Billingshurst
3D Personnel are currently recruiting for a Technical Manager in Billingshurst, West Sussex.

The Department: The Technical Department has a thorough understanding of all aspects of construction and controls, understands and manages external consultants to achieve timely delivery of value engineered solutions. Responsibilties:
•Manage company Technical Master Procedures
• Brief External Consultants for detailed design/construction information with external consultants to include; Architects, Structural Engineers, Civil Engineers, Service consultants SAP/Energy Assessor, Code Assessor, Landscape Architect, Air Testing, Acoustic Consultants
• Make enquiries and arrange consultant tender bids for production information
• Evaluate/reconcile tender returns
• Appoint consultants and manage Appointment/Contract/Warranty queries
• Control and monitor professional fees and invoicing
• Hold regular design team meetings with consultants
• Assist with specification development and review
• Ensure consultants are working to brief and delivering to program
• Manage consultants during technical design and respond to queries raised
• Ensure the timely provision of production information to the project team
• Review and comment on technical information for best value engineered solutions
• Provide information for discharge of planning Conditions
• Manage applications for Building Control and discharge of conditions
• Liaise with Building Control body to achieve Building Control Approval
• Manage applications for NHBC Warranties, Robust Detail applications etc.
• Manage Secured by Design Applications and requirements
• Manager air testing regime and acoustic testing where required
• Brief specialist suppliers and send out design enquiries to include beam and block floors, floor joists, lintels, trussed rafters, ventilation, plumbing and heating
• Manage and track approval process of specialist suppliers’ drawings
• Oversee production of Sales and Conveyance Plans
• Liaise with Housing Association relating to technical/specification issues
• Respond to site technical queries and attend site project review meetings
• Respond to technical related customer care issues
Qualifications:
Industry related qualification eg. HND, Degree
Knowledge & Skills
• An ability to deliver the highest standards of service
• A track record in academic achievement
• An ability to achieve demanding time and quality targets
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
• Good IT skills with competency at Microsoft Word and Excel
• A willingness to attend training courses and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills
• To have good spoken and written communication skills
• To be methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate
• To be good at working with people at all levels and willing to work in a team
• To be self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative
• To be able to co-ordinate a number of different projects at the same time
• To be willing to accept responsibility for completing designated tasks
• To hold of a full clean UK driving licence or be in the process of learning to drive
