SERVICE ENGINEER required for Galway for an on-site role with field cover across the region
Company Van Supplied Salary Negotiable, DOE.
The Role
We're recruiting a Service Engineer for a well-established office technology and print solutions provider, based in Galway. The role is primarily on-site with one of the company's large key accounts, with additional field servicing required across the surrounding area as needed.
Both junior and senior candidates will be considered, provided you bring office machine and/or field service engineering experience.
Purpose of the Role
You'll be the face of the company for existing customers - maintaining their equipment, protecting the relationship, and spotting opportunities that help the wider team grow the account. On certain contracts there may be specific site requirements, which will be discussed with you directly.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Provide on-site technical support, installation, service and maintenance of copiers and other office equipment
* Carry out electro-mechanical fault-finding and electronic/IT-based problem solving - using your own initiative to resolve field issues independently
* Maintain toner levels across the site and manage on-site toner and parts stock
* Carry out regular collection of machine meter details
* Liaise regularly with the client, as directed by the Service Manager and Account Manager, to ensure smooth day-to-day running of the account
* Deliver a standard of service that keeps the company positioned as sole/preferred supplier
* Identify opportunities to introduce improved digital imaging solutions to customers, and pass sales opportunities to the internal sales team
* Report customer complaints or issues to the Service Manager
* Manage your time to hit SLA and KPI targets
* Observe site and company Health & Safety policies at all times
* Continuously develop your own technical knowledge and skills
What You'll Bring
* Experience in office machine servicing and/or field service engineering (any sector considered)
* Strong electro-mechanical and IT-based fault-finding ability
* A customer-first mindset - someone who treats every site visit as a chance to strengthen the relationship
* Ability to work independently and use initiative in the field
* Full driving licence (company van provided)
Culture & Values
This is a company that prides itself on outstanding customer service, integrity, continuous improvement, and genuine teamwork - you'll be joining a service function that takes real pride in protecting long-term client relationships, not just fixing machines.
