The Opportunity

3D Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 main contractor seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of major construction projects across the South Coast.

Our client has an established reputation for delivering complex, high-value schemes across the defence, education, healthcare, commercial and public sectors.

This position requires an accomplished construction professional with a proven track record of leading projects valued at £45 million or above, taking full responsibility for operational delivery, project teams, programme, commercial performance and client relationships.

The successful candidate will provide leadership from pre-construction and project mobilisation through to completion and handover, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of major construction projects valued at £45m+, ensuring programme, budget, quality and safety objectives are achieved.

• Lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams, including Construction Managers, Site Managers, Design Managers, Engineers and specialist subcontractors.

• Develop, implement and monitor project delivery strategies, construction programmes, procurement schedules and resource requirements.

• Work closely with commercial teams to manage project budgets, financial forecasts, contractual obligations, risks and opportunities.

• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, stakeholders and supply chain partners throughout the project lifecycle.

• Oversee all aspects of construction delivery, including design coordination, subcontractor management, logistics, quality assurance and commissioning.

• Champion health, safety and environmental performance, ensuring compliance with company procedures and statutory requirements.

• Provide regular progress reports to senior management, proactively identifying and resolving issues affecting project performance.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrable experience delivering major construction projects valued at £45 million or above.

• Proven track record operating as a Senior Project Manager, Project Director or Project Lead within a Tier 1 or major UK main contractor.

• Experience delivering large-scale Design & Build projects from pre-construction through to practical completion.

• Strong knowledge of construction programming, commercial management, procurement and contract administration.

• Experience working with JCT and/or NEC forms of contract.

• Previous experience on education, healthcare, defence, commercial or other complex public-sector projects would be advantageous.

• Excellent leadership capabilities with experience managing large operational teams and multiple specialist subcontractors.

• Relevant construction qualification, ideally degree or HNC/HND, together with appropriate professional accreditations.
