The Role:
- We are looking for a passionate and driven Retail Manager who can demonstrate a strong understanding of the competitive retail environment.
- Customer focus, people skills and the ability to successfully multi-task are essential in the world of retail management.
- We are looking for a candidate who can guarantee the smooth daily running of the business in order to ensure profitability, performance and excellence in customer service.
Performance Objectives:
- Complete the training plan, becoming proficient at using and understanding internal processes, procedures and technology.
- Demonstrate awareness, knowledge and understanding of the control of money within the business. This is a fundamental requirement of this business; an aptitude for numbers is a must.
- Analyse weekly and monthly financial figures, recommending actions to improve the operation.
- Manage all controllable costs within the agreed budget.
- Ensuring the team has the team has commercial awareness and understand how they can personally impact the bottom line.
- Determine the current status of the business and prepare a plan of action of key priorities including timelines and deliverable targets.
- Identify current and future operational improvement plans to improve policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate competence in the management of all operational activities, reviewing goals & targets to ensure we are on track.
- Ensure excellent customer service through personal contact with customers, be available, walk the floor.
- Effectively resolve customer issues and provide business solutions to meet customer needs
- Provide escalation support to employees as needed.
- Building a strong shop team through effective recruitment, induction and ongoing training and development.
- Leading, developing and training the team so they are able to deliver consistently exceptional customer service ensuring a great customer journey.
- Developing the team in their current role, and supporting development for those with potential for future roles within the business.
- Encouraging the team to understand the company’s product offering, to enable them to have confident conversations with customers.
- Maintaining high shop standards, taking pride in the shop and ensuring all colleagues adhere to the company uniform policy and focus on shop cleanliness.
- Develop an atmosphere to ensure employee retention, providing suggestions and ideas to support same.
- Monitor and adjust performance to local competition.
- Maintain open communication with Operation Director.
What you will need to be successful in this role
- Minimum of 4+ Years' experience in a customer facing/cash handling business
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of 20+ staff
- Passion for delivering great customer service
- Entrepreneurial and target driven with a commercial focus
- Excellent operational and planning skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and interact as part of a highly motivated team
- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively
- Self-motivated with strong organisation skills
- Ability to adapt and learn
- Ability to deal with tough situations in a calm and professional manner
- The standard working week 45 hours 5/7 days, which includes a variety of day time, evening and weekend shifts.
