3D Personnel are recruiting on behalf of an established and highly regarded Main Contractor who are seeking an experienced MEP Lead to oversee the mechanical and electrical delivery of a major new-build Data Centre project in Duxford, just south of Cambridge.

The development incorporates approximately £60m of mechanical and electrical works, providing an excellent opportunity for an experienced MEP professional to take a senior role on a technically complex, high-value project.

Our client has an established reputation for delivering major construction schemes throughout the UK and continues to expand its portfolio of Data Centre and Mission Critical developments.

The Role

  • Take overall responsibility for the coordination and delivery of approximately £60m of MEP works

  • Manage and coordinate specialist mechanical and electrical subcontractors throughout the construction programme

  • Oversee the installation of critical building services infrastructure including power distribution, cooling systems, HVAC and associated mechanical and electrical systems

  • Work closely with the Project Lead, Construction Managers, Design Managers and commercial teams to ensure successful project delivery

  • Review and manage MEP design information, technical submissions, procurement schedules and installation programmes

  • Ensure MEP activities are fully coordinated with structural, architectural and civil engineering packages

  • Oversee quality assurance, technical compliance, testing, commissioning and project handover

  • Monitor programme performance, identify potential risks and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards

The Candidate

  • Proven experience as an MEP Lead, Building Services Manager, MEP Project Manager or Senior M&E Manager

  • Strong mechanical and electrical building services knowledge, ideally gained on large-scale Data Centre or Mission Critical projects

  • Experience managing significant MEP packages for an established Main Contractor or major M&E subcontractor

  • Good understanding of critical power, cooling infrastructure, commissioning and integrated building services systems

  • Experience managing specialist subcontractors, technical coordination and complex construction programmes

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders

  • Relevant mechanical, electrical or building services qualifications

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established Main Contractor and take responsibility for a substantial MEP package on a major Data Centre development.

The position offers significant project responsibility, exposure to complex mission-critical infrastructure and excellent opportunities for long-term progression within the growing Data Centre construction sector.
