Knitwear Programmer required for Donegal Knitwear Manufacturer in South-West Donegal, Ireland

The hiring client is an established knitwear manufacturer known for their modern knitwear styles, high quality craftsmanship and innovative design. As they continue to modernise and expand their production capabilities, they are seeking a knitwear Programmer to join the team.
Role Overview
You will work closely with the production and design department- to support and improve the programming processes. This role involves programming and where possible maintaining knitwear machinery software (e.g., Shima Seiki,), improving internal systems, and ensuring smooth workflows across the production .

Key Responsibilities
Program and manage knitwear machine files (e.g., Shima Seiki SDS ONE APEX,-systems);
Hands-on experience with APEX 3 and/or APEX 4 software;
Develop and improve digital workflows for pattern creation, production planning, and file management;
Troubleshoot issues with machine programs;
Work with designers and production staff to translate designs into accurate machine ready data;
Maintain and update internal databases or software tools used in manufacturing.

Desired Skills & Experience
Experience programming knitwear machinery (Shima Seiki experience is a major advantage as on site is all Shima machinery-to include 12 knitwear garment machines and a new accessory knitting machine.
Strong understanding of textiles, knit structures, or garment production (or willingness to learn).
Knowledge in software systems used in manufacturing and design.( Shima Apex- textile design software).
Problem solving mindset with the ability to work independently and as a member of the team.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Interest in knitwear manufacturing.
