Vacancy: Environmental Planner/Scientist

Location: South Dublin

Salary: NEG. Depending on experience

About the role

This role provides an excellent opportunity for you to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering projects across a range of sectors, including transportation, infrastructure development and tourism.

Role responsibilities

  • Planning and environmental appraisal of sites/lands
  • Preparation of supporting documentation for feasibility studies and planning applications
  • Preparation of inputs for and co-ordination of EIA and SEAs
  • Organisation and management of public consultation events, Oral Hearings, etc.
  • Required qualifications, skills and knowledge
  • Relevant planning/environmental science qualification (BSc, BA, MSc)
  • 2-4 years’ experience in the planning / environmental assessment sector
  • Excellent knowledge of EIA and SEA processes
  • Good knowledge of environmental legislation and the Irish planning system
  • Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Comfortable working in a busy environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality outputs
  • Excellent IT skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluency/highly proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Self-motivated, positive, assertive and focused

Desirable

  • MSc qualification
  • Knowledge of AA and SFRA processes
  • Experience using GIS and other planning tools, including census statistics to provide evidenced-based planning and research
