About the Role
The EHS Specialist will support the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the company's Environmental, Health & Safety programs. You will ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements while actively promoting a strong safety culture throughout the site.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and written programs.
* Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with all local environmental, health, and safety requirements.
* Deliver training programmes across all levels of the organisation.
* Conduct and document audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
* Coordinate visits and communication with regulatory authorities including EPA, HSA, and local councils.
* Manage key environmental compliance tasks such as:
o VOC monitoring & reporting
o Stormwater sampling
o Hazardous & non hazardous waste stream management
o EPA reporting (AER, SMP, EPR) and data collation
* Support licence applications and amendments as required.
* Assist the site safety committee with inspections, risk assessments, and corrective action plans.
* Support EHS programmes including accident reduction, cost reduction, behavioural audits and risk analysis.
* Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
* Contribute to environmental, energy and sustainability objectives.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across EHS performance.
* Lead weekly safety meetings, track actions, and publish minutes.
* Upload environmental data to the EDEN portal.
* Actively promote and champion a culture of safety excellence.
Skills & Experience Required
* Qualification in Environmental Studies (with Health & Safety experience).
* 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment (desirable).
* Experience dealing with regulatory bodies (EPA, HSA, County Council, IFI).
* Strong understanding of regulatory standards and compliance.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
* Strong communication and engagement skills across all levels.
* Excellent record keeping, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
* Problem solving mindset with the ability to identify improvements.
* Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
