EHS Project Lead

Dublin, Ireland

€70K - €75k + Package DOE

An excellent opportunity to join one of Ireland’s largest Building and Civil engineering firms and become involved in exciting projects.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Reporting on a day to day basis to the appropriate Director and with a professional and functional report to the Company EHS Manager.
  • Advising & providing support to project on health, safety, environment & quality matters. Participating and collaborating with the Project Manager(s), in drafting the Construction Phase Safety Plan with any reviews and updates.
  • Developing site based teams to manage the safety function on all projects.
  • Systematically visiting and auditing Branch projects to monitor compliance with the Construction Phase Safety Plan and continued improvement of the Health and Safety Management System.
  • Collaborating in resolving specific issues on the project(s) Preparing and submitting, on a monthly basis, the statistical data to the Company EHS Manager.
  • Informing the Company EHS Manager when serious breaches of the Health and Safety legislation are observed in a project, developing plans to prevent a recurrence of breaches in consultation with project team and senior managers.
  • In the event of observing any serious and imminent risk to employee Health and Safety require that the Project Manager suspends work until the failures are identified, rectified, prevented from occurring again and informing the Managing Director of this.
  • Liaising with contractors and client regarding site requirements.
  • Investigating serious accidents, identifying root causes and latent failures then preparing incident reports.
  • Maintaining relations with the Health and Safety Authorities related to Health, Safety and the Environment. Participating and collaborating in training company employees, as well as those of subcontractors, who need specific training in order to carry out a particular project task.
  • Assisting the Company EHS Manager in the development and improvement of systems.
  • Assisting in the preparation of pre-qualification and tender documents in regard to HSEQ projects within the region.
  • Conducting site inspections and audits, new employee inductions, presenting tool box talks, chairing safety meetings.

Requirements Include:

  • Hold a relevant EHS Qualification.
  • 5+years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent IT skills and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft suite.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Good time management and organisation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work on own initiative but also capable of working as part of a team.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate building strong working relationships and stakeholder management.
