Document Controller

Limerick / Cork Region

€35,000 - €40,000

Our client is one of Ireland’s leading Building Contractors, with operations throughout Ireland and the UK.  Due to their continuous growth, they are currently recruiting for an experienced Document Controller to join their Limerick / Cork Region based team on a permanent basis.

The Document Controller is responsible for the timely, accurate and efficient preparation and management of all project documentation (drawings, schedules, contracts, specifications, data etc.). They control the numbering, sorting, filing, storing and retrieval of both electronic and hard copy documents produced by technical teams, projects, or departments. The DoC will be responsible for a maximum of 3 live projects at any one time.

The DoC plays a fundamental part in the successful delivery of the project alongside the Project Manager, Design Manager / Coordinator, BIM Manage.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all project personnel are competent in the use and operation of the Document Management Platform – Autodesk BIM 360.
  • Ensure access and training is provided to all required users.
  • Provide weekly refresher training (proceeding initial BIM Manager training) for the first 6 weeks of the project.
  • Ensure all information is easily assessable by all project members.
  • Ensure all information is current and coordinated.
  • Ensure the site team are aware how to batch download, print, mark-up, search for drawings and documentation on the system.
  • Ensure the site team receive drawing upload notifications and are aware how to access these drawings.
  • Provide client agent access to the S4 folder (approval / comment).
  • Ensure the S2 – S4 – Construction process is strictly adhered to.
  • Ensure the drawings are named in accordance with the PAS naming convention.
  • Ensure the drawings are the correct scale, orientation & format (DWG and PDF).
  • Ensure the drawing registers are issued / uploaded with every drawing revision / upload.
  • Manage the Change Control process.
  • The Document Controller must manage the Design RFI process.
  • Ensure that all produced technical information is issued to the Clients Agent via the BIM Docs S4 folder process.
  • The Document Controller should regularly compare Tender drawings These Documents Must Be Accessible On BIM And Inclusive Of
  • The Document Controller must assist with the production of the Design Review Meeting (DRM) documentation on a fortnightly basis.

Requirements Include:

  • A BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management or a HNC / HND / Degree in Construction Management or Architecture (including an industrial placement)
  • A minimum of 1.0 years' experience of managing elements of construction projects

  • Self-motivated, proactive, flexible and reliable.
  • Advanced computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Auto CAD and Microsoft Project Planner
