A well-established civil, environmental and structural engineering consultancy based in South Dublin requires a Geotechincal Engineer to join their team.
Role description
You will be responsible for devising and overseeing ground investigation contracts and supporting various design teams with specialist geotechnical inputs.
Requirements
- Relevant degree in civil engineering
- Minimum of 5+ years' experience in Irish/UK glacial till soils including major road/rail projects
- Knowledge of construction techniques for piles and retaining walls
- Knowledge of soft ground techniques, peat stability and soil reinforcement methods will be of particular interest
- Knowledge and work experience using finite element modelling of soil-structure interaction problems
- Knowledge of quarry/borrow materials used as aggregates and pavement design
- Construction experience in earthworks, soil improvement and deep foundations
- Strong analytical skills
- Chartered Engineer
- Experience of geotechnical investigations contracts
Experience of earthwork design or road/rail infrastructure projects

- Proven track-record working with design teams in a busy work environment with tight deadlines

Desirable
- Post graduate qualification MSc in geotechnical engineering or related field
- Use and manipulation of AGS data
- Use of word/excel/CAD
- Report writing skills
- Membership of a recognised professional body in the geotechnical field
- Full driving licence
