We are looking to hire a driven [JN1] Business Operations Manager to maximize our company’s operating capabilities, oversee our marketing strategies, and guarantee customer satisfaction. The Business Operations Manager will collaborate with management to execute business strategies, manage our operations, and guarantee customer retention. You will play a pivotal role in creating the budget, and employ strategies to protect our property and goods. You will support our business leader and project teams so they have the optimum processes, technology infrastructure and right office and home working environment to be productive and content.

To be successful in this role you need to maximize profits by driving initiatives to optimize business operations, allowing Engineers to focus on their core strengths while ensuring the security of company assets. Ideal candidates are resourceful, visionary, and driven with outstanding people management skills and extensive experience gained in a “Business Operations/Support function”

Business Operations Manager Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with relevant parties to track, inform, and report on Business KPI’s – per project, business group and region.
  • Employing strategies to ensure the company’s growth.
  • Implementing plans to address stock losses and theft.
  • Employing means to control company costs.
  • Multi-Site Management
  • Effecting better business practices.
  • Managing marketing initiatives.
  • Maximizing operating potential to exceed customers’ expectations and company goals.
  • Decide which tools/technologies we should be using in all parts of the business;
  • Ongoing reporting and analysis on how the business is operating against agreed targets – established KPI;s are in place and therefore accurate and up to date reporting required for monthly operations meetings, quarterly board meetings and ad-hoc business analysis.
  • Ensure very high data integrity and safety;
  • Liaise with the senior Finance and Project teams to assist in budgets and financial reports;
  • Maintain a full library of latest sales and marketing materials (project sheets, CV’s, case studies and broader bid collateral);
  • Providing administrative support to the business ;
  • Direct and coordinate communications and processes to benefit the business;
  • Identify efficiencies and better practices to optimise business operations;
  • Set staff objectives, develop and implement plans to evaluate staff performance;
  • Resident expert and ‘go-to’ person across key work winning  and revenue tools;
  • Strong understanding of contracts agreement and appointments;
  • Strong understanding of Business ERP and CRM systems
  • Use a range of software, including email, spreadsheets and databases, to ensure the efficient running of the office;
  • Research new software and take responsibility for implementation;
  • Recruitment and management of junior staff;
  • Managing staff training and employee relations – including working with HR partner and external recruiters to attract talent, support interviews, on boarding etc.

Business Operations Manager Requirements/Attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or, a business/finance related discipline
  • Ideally 6+ years of experience successfully managing a complex enterprise's human resources, finances, operations, or strategies experience gained in a biz ops role, sales ops role or similar;
  • Proficient ability to manage complex budgets.
  • Proficient ethical leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding people skills.
  • Ability to make projections three years into the future.
  • Ability to deliver quality data reports with strong narrative and objectives;
  • Extremely inquisitive and proactive;
  • 50% delivery actions, data analysis and developing solutions;
  • 20% stakeholder management;
  • 30% project planning and project management;
  • Operationally-minded with an unflinching desire for best practices & processes;
  • Ability to manage myriad tasks while delivering high quality work;
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, , PowerPoint, ERP system;
  • A methodical and logical thinker. Creative reasoning too;
  • Demonstrable ability to solve problems;
  • Knowledge and accreditation of I.S.O. standards
  • A Background in the Design, Engineering or Fire Engineering Sectors
