Our client based in Donegal and within easy reach of Derry are a leading manufacturer with well over 30 years’ experience working on projects locally and internationally.
The business is in a period of significant growth. Due to their busy work load they have a vacancy for a Structural Engineer to join their team.

Job Profile:
Working as part of a Design team, this newly created position provides an exciting opportunity to take lead responsibility working on a wide range of challenging projects in a high achieving professional environment. Day to day you will support the delivery of a wide range of projects, ranging in size and complexity to ensure client, design team and contractor liaison.
You will have an understanding of engineering principles and a strong technical focus combined with the ability to apply engineering principles and codes of practice to solve technical problems.
Key Functions: (include but may not be limited to)
Review and monitor the Client design proposals and lead the design process from conceptual and final design to approval stage;
Monitor, manage and approve design changes in conjunction with production, installation, and commercial teams, ensuring programme and cost effects are agreed;
Liaise with procurement department / manufacturing functions to ensure that necessary materials are procured on time and within budgets;
Responsible for leading and developing technical and engineering support in relation to current and new products/systems development;
Support the BIM strategy & manage compliance in relation to all design aspects.
Experience/Qualifications/Requirements:
The successful candidate will be expected to possess the following;
Essential:
Degree qualified in Structural Engineering or Architecture, with a minimum of 2 years post graduate and proven design experience in a comparable role;
Proven track record of structural engineering design of modular or offsite construction;
Commercial awareness and client interfacing experience.
Desirable:
Skilled practical knowledge of BIM / Revit modelling;
Structural Practice and/or a Metal Fabrication Workshop experience;
Proficient knowledge of UK / Irish building regulations and the structural design of buildings structures.
