Established for almost 30 years, our new client is a multiple award-winning manufacturer and distributor of one of the most comprehensive ranges of doors and accessories to retailers and manufacturers throughout the UK & Ireland.

Our new client now wishes to recruit an Area Sales Manager for East of England & Home Counties.  They are seeking a dynamic, driven individual to join their team of highly respected and experienced industry professionals.

Their business is managed from Head Office in Northern Ireland; however, this role is based in the general locality East of England and Home Counties.

The Role:

  • The main purpose of the role will be to maximise sales revenue from new and existing customers by telephone and direct contact calls to retail/trade businesses. 
  • You will be required to visit customers and manage the relationships and sales.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage existing key accounts to maintain and increase revenue through promotions, displays etc
  • Develop new business
  • Provide a high level of customer service to retail and trade customers 
  • Manage existing key accounts to maintain and increase revenue through promotions, displays etc.
  • Develop and maintain customer/client relationships and manage these relationships to meet  commercial and sales expectations
  • Manage and control accountable expenditure within agreed budgets and systems i.e. displays, samples, brochures, phones, internal visits etc.
  • In conjunction with your Key Account Manager, implement programmes to ensure a satisfactory standard of service and customer satisfaction.
  • Increase business opportunities by cold calling and with the assistance of the business development unit
  • Present new product proposals to ensure correct product mix for market.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to retail and trade customers 
  • Ensure prompt replies to customer requests
  • Reach Targets and goals set for your area and exceed targets if possible.
  • Travel – To and from Northern Ireland for sales meetings / product launches etc. on average 2-3 days / nights per month
  • Provide quality leadership in all assigned tasks, while upholding company Values at all times

The Successful Candidate should possess the following:

Essential Experience      

  • 3 -5 years’ experience in field sales within a B2B sales environment

Job Knowledge 

  • Competence and experience in account Growth, generating new business and Key Account Management
  • Ability to demonstrate strong sales capability with the ability to upsell to customers
  • Ability to develop and maintain customer/client relationships and to manage these relationships to meet our commercial and sales expectations
  • Experience in KPIs 
  • Competence and experience in field sales, ideally within a B2B sales environment
  • Ability to demonstrate strong sales capability with the ability to upsell to customers
  • Strong and established negotiating & influencing skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain customer/client relationships and to manage these relationships to meet all commercial and sales expectations
  • A driven and self-motivated individual with the ability to use their own initiative and work with minimum supervision

  • Excellent Communication skills both orally and written
