Stand out for all of the right reasons
Construction is a highly competitive sector, which is why it's important to make sure your CV is kept up-to-date and is relevant.
Our specialist team has put together a list of top tips to ensure your CV stands out from the crowd and increases your chances of getting that all-important call-back.
Contact details
It might sound obvious, but you'd be surprised how many people forget to include their contact information on their CV. Always make sure you include your full name, current address, phone number and email address.
Qualifications
Getting the order right is key for the qualifications section of your CV. You should start with your most recent education and work backwards, including the date you achieve your qualification, the establishment you got it from and the full name of the qualification, including the grade or level you achieved.
Employment history
Just like qualifications, start with your most recent job and work backwards, including the dates you worked there, the company name and your job title. If you've had any gaps in your employment, make sure you state why this was. For each role you list in your employment history, include a full job description and what you are/were responsible for. Keep in mind the types of roles you're applying for and how your experience to date will help you fulfil them.
References
Remember that you don't need to include references on your CV. Simply state that references are available on request as they will be obtained following a job offer.
Spelling and grammar
It's so important to double-check your CV for spelling and grammatical mistakes. Often the best thing to do is ask someone to read over it for you.
3D Personnel's recruitment consultants are on-hand to help you craft your CV and increase your chances of landing your ideal construction role.
