£40m revamp of Manchester Royal Infirmary Emergency Department

A £40m revamp of Manchester Royal Infirmary Emergency Department has been approved by Manchester City Council.  The project was designed by Day Architectural and Hoare Lea.  It will comprise an upgrade and an extension of the Emergency Department; as well as six new operating theatres.

The works, which will start during 2021, will be developed by Vinci Construction and Sir Robert McAlpine and are expected to be completed in 2024.
