The Irish government has announced that €82.8m will be invested in four different projects in Connaught, via the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund. €9.2 will be provided for pedestrian and cycle routes, as well as civic facilities, in Roscommon town. €11m will be spent on different projects in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, including the conversion of the former Imperial Hotel into an innovation hub. €40.3m will be invested in Galway City’s transport connectivity project as well as €8.6m in public spaces in the city. A passing railway loop will be built at Galway’s Oranmore Train Station, thus increasing the frequency of commuter services to Galway City.
