Hope that the Irish construction industry will get back

Minister for Housing Darragh O’Brien has said that the Government is hopeful that the Irish construction industry will get back to work on the 5^th of March. Minister O’Brien recognised the fact that the industry had put safety procedures in place and that it was able to operate safely.

This was reiterated by the Director General of the Construction Industry Federation, Tom Parlon. Mr Parlon noted that 40% of construction sites were considered “essential” and so had remained upon during the current lockdown. There were less than 20 cases of covid-19 on those sites, and that those cases were administered in conjunction with the HSE.
