Hope that the Irish construction industry will get back to work on the 5th of March

3 D Personnel

Minister for Housing Darragh O’Brien has said that the Government is hopeful that the Irish construction industry will get back to work on the 5th of March.  Minister O’Brien recognised the fact that the industry had put safety procedures in place and that it was able to operate safely.

This was reiterated by the Director General of the Construction Industry Federation, Tom Parlon.  Mr Parlon noted that 40% of construction sites were considered “essential” and so had remained upon during the current lockdown.  There were less than 20 cases of covid-19 on those sites, and that those cases were administered in conjunction with the HSE.

We look forward to getting back to work and encourage you to continue to adhere to the restrictions so as to get the numbers where we need them to be.
