Dublin City Council has approved planning for a €475m development on the old DIT Campus on Kevin Street, Dublin. The project entails 50,008 square meters of office space in two 11 story buildings; and 299 apartments in three 14 story blocks. It is understood that the apartments will be under the build to rent scheme. In a study conducted by Ernst and Young it is estimated that the project will add €7.67bn to the economy over 10 years. The developer, Westridge Real Estate, will contribute €1.5m to the Luas Cross City Scheme and €3.9m to public infrastructure. There were, however, objections to the plans, which may be lodged again to An Bord Pleanála who has the final decision. We look forward to approval and the commencement of work on the site.
