Progress on the new runway at Dublin Airport received a boost this week as a man claiming squatter's rights over the land adjacent to the Airport necessary to complete the construction will vacate the area. The new runway, which will be known as the "North Runway" will be 3.1km long and will help the Airport increase its connectivity by 31% by 2034. The construction, which dates back to 2017, is expected to be completed in early 2021. However, 9 months of months of testing and commissioning will be required before it opens. It is believed that Ms Justice Leonie Reynolds of the Hight Court was informed that an agreement had been reached and that the case had been withdrawn.
