Ulster Bank report suggests that construction activity is increasing

The Construction Purchasing Managers’ Index, provided by Ulster Bank, increased from 47.0 in September to 48.6 in October, with the construction of new houses having a strong impact.  The number employed in the industry was up for the first time in eight months.  The Ulster Bank did, however, express a note of caution on the continuing impact of the coronavirus, as there were downward trends in the commercial sector as well as civil engineering projects.
