Trinity College is considering developing a €1bn University Campus in Dublin’s Grand Canal Innovation District and have appointed Savills Ireland to advise on same. The 2.2 hectare site would include academic, commercial and cultural space and would be known as the “Innovation Campus”. The project hopes to build on the presence of innovative companies such as HubSpot, Facebook and Google in an area which has become known as “Silicon Docks” and hopes to promote enhanced interaction, collaboration and industry engagement. It also considers an incubation space for new Irish start-ups. The disciplines would include natural sciences, engineering, material science and computer science. We look forward to further developments.
