Green light for 6,500 homes on Cambridge airfield

Planners have given the green light to build 6,500 new homes at the former Waterbeach Barracks site on the outskirts of Cambridge.

Developer Urban&Civic will transform the former RAF airfield and barracks site into a new community.

Preparatory works will start immediately on the 716 acre site with initial major infrastructure scheduled for not later than the end of this year.

The current programme anticipates first occupation of new homes on the site during 2022.
