The property company behind a major residential and retail plan for Waterford's North Quay has said work on the project is to start before the end of this year.
Falcon Real Estate Development wants to build retail, hotel, office and residential buildings on an eight-hectare site that has strategic development zone status from the Government and is also due to get State funding.
Total investment in the scheme is estimated to be €350m, over a three-year period, with 2,300 full-time jobs created during construction.
According to a statement released by the Falcon Real Estate group, which is a major developer of retail and commercial projects internationally, Waterford's North Quay will become "one of Ireland's most modern transport hubs", with a new link-bridge to the city centre across the River Suir.
Also part of the development will be a 200-room hotel and conference centre; 15,000 square metres of office space; 300 riverside apartments; and 49,600 square metres of retail, leisure and dining outlets.
"It will blend carefully planned infrastructure investments with tourism, retail, business and living needs," the company said.
"Falcon Real Estate Development's vision is to create a new focus for Waterford city and a destination that is firmly integrated with the local community, offering opportunities for living, working and socialising," it added.
